Get to know Ashley Heisey:
An Acute Care Provider, Through and Through

Even though Ashley was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she spent her childhood summering in the Cape region for longer than memory serves.  She is excited to have settled here permanently with her family, and honored to bring her seven years of urgent care experience to the residents and visitors of such a special region of the Mid-Atlantic.

Ashley’s education started at the University of Pittsburgh where she obtained her undergraduate degrees, as well as a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine.  After then working in the field of psychiatry in both inpatient and research settings for several years, Ashley decided to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.  At Arcadia University she was named a Program Scholar, traveled on a medical mission trip to Panama, and scored in the 98th percentile on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam.  She completed clinical rotations in emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, geriatrics, and women’s health.  Prior to joining Atracare Health, Ashley practiced urgent care medicine throughout Maryland and Delaware where she gained extensive clinical experience, including suturing and other minor procedures.

Ashley’s philosophy of urgent care medicine is simple yet beautiful in its brevity: thoroughly yet efficiently evaluating each patient, recognizing more serious conditions when present, and getting you back to health as quickly as possible!

In her free time, Ashley can be found running, cooking, playing piano, and exploring the Delaware state parks and beaches with her husband and two children.
